Książka dotyczy przejawów, sposobu działania i skutków funkcjonowania metafor - zarówno werbalnych, jak i wizualnych - w wielu obszarach życia. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono w niej dziedzinom praktycznym, takim jak: prawo, polityka, edukacja, psychoterapia, perswazja.
